With a population of just over 100,000, the city has a small town feel with all of the conveniences and comforts that you need for modern living. The city was incorporated in 1911, and it has played an important role in the development of the area from an economical and cultural perspective. Interstate 215 cuts through the city making it easy to get to larger cities in the area like Fontana and Ontario.

One of the main reasons why people move to Rialto from larger cities is to get away from the notorious California traffic. Thanks to a smaller population and a road system that was allowed to develop with the growth of the city. Unlike most cities nearby, driving around Rialto is a pleasant experience. Omnitran busses and shuttles do provide an alternative to driving for those who do not like to get behind the wheel. The service is reliable and affordable, although it is not as robust as it is in other California cities.

Bud Bender Park is the local area ball diamond where many a little leaguer has stood in the batter's box dreaming of hitting a home run over the distant fence in center field.
