Revere, MA - A Small Tranquil Spot In The North East User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 27, 2012) When my family had to move to Revere, MA I was apprehensive. Coming from a thriving metropolis to a smaller town was new, but also exciting. The city has around 51,000 people, so it is large enough to have life, but still small enough to have the down home feeling. It is close to ...Read More cities such as Chelsea, Everett and Malden. The town is made up of about 50% with families and children, which makes it a great place to raise kids. The school systems are known for being excellent and the job market up and coming.

Finding a house in Revere is rather easy too. The cost of living here is a little lower than other parts of the country, which makes it one of the most affordable places in Massachusetts. All the statics aside, I moved in and transitioned well. I enjoy going to the little gift shops and love the rich food. One of my favorite restaurants is Beachmont Roast Beef. The food here is so decadent and they always have great portions with affordable price tags. While this tends to be more of a dinner, I prefer Maggio's Restaurant in the historic district. The stuffed calamari and lasagna is mouthwatering.

Visiting the historic district on Revere Street is a nice treat too. North Shore Road runs right along the coast and there are plenty of sea food joints and activities to get involved in here. Boston is a short drive, which is good for those who love the big city adventures. Travelers use the Logon airport, which is one of the easiest to get in and out of in the country.

The summers are magnificent and while the temperatures stay in the 80'-90's being next to the water seems to make it tolerable. Winters can be fierce here, especially because were in the Northeast. Snow seems to fall by the buckets and getting around can be quite a hassle. Overall, I think our move to Revere has been challenging yet rewarding. I love the people and the activities from clubs to shopping and restaurants. It is a great place to raise a family. Read Less
