My family has lived in Quartz Hill for almost two years. Quartz Hill is situated between Palmdale and Lancaster. While new homes are being built, overall, it is a more established town. Luckily, Quartz Hill is located on what is considered the west side, which is definitely where you want to live if you move here.

The nice thing about living out in Quartz Hill, is that when compared to Los Angeles or even Valencia, home prices are significantly cheaper. There is also a good-sized mall with big box department stores as well as other popular stores.

In my opinion, there are two major problems with Quartz Hill. The biggest problem with Quartz Hill, as well as the surrounding area, is that there is a large California State Prison nearby. Unfortunately, this doesn’t bring the best people to town. In fact, there are areas that I would suggest completely avoiding. The second problem is that the school system here isn’t all that good. If education is a top priority, I would suggest you do your research to ensure you live in an area that is zoned for one of the better school.
