"Everyone likes Pitman" Best kept secret in South Jersey 5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 31, 2019) “Everyone like Pitman" is the town motto and with good reason. It is small town America 30 minutes from Philadelphia. It is a friendly, charming, historic, WALKABLE, 2 square mile town with its desirable school system to which all from kindergarten to high school walk. Student/ ...Read More Teacher ratio is 13/1! ( The ratings don't do it justice. It is so small that a couple bad scores skewer the ratings.) Pitman was featured in Philadelphia Magazine as one of the new hot suburbs. It has a growing downtown with shops, restaurants, two breweries, art gallery, and historic theater. Everything is within distance from Alcyon Lake Park to all the Pitman schools.
There are many traditions and events all year long such as the 4th of July parade, Christmas parade, the Tour de Pitman bike race, craft fairs in the spring and fall and much more. Pitman is 5 minutes from Rowan University, 10 from the new Inspira Hospital opening soon and 30 minutes from center city Philadelphia and 45 minutes from Atlantic City. I love living here. Read Less
