My plan is to retire in Pinehurst, N.C., in the next few years. I love the area. Golf is my favorite hobby and living in Pinehurst is like living in a large gated community. The cost of living here is high but well worth the money. This sweet spot is the most desirable place to live in the whole state. The crime rate is virtually nonexistent, as is poverty.
If you are looking for luxury dining, there is a walking food tour available where top-level chefs will visit your table to share information about their culinary creations. Pro level golf courses dot this sandhill area to my delight. After a great day on the course, there are plenty of health spas to relax and rejuvenate for an evening of fine dining. The schools are excellent and plenty of shopping. The area also features a harness racing track if you like that kind of entertainment. Sandhills Horticultural Gardens are outstanding and well worth the tour.
Public TransportationIs there any public transportation available. While in the hospital, my husband who doesn't drive needs transportation from the hospital to the hotel and back the next day. Does anyone know my options?
