Beautiful Neighborhood and Community User Rating 5 rating By witwhit ( Mar 28, 2016) Whitman neighborhood is beautiful, with a diverse community and homes. Homes vary from single family, apartments, to full blown lawn/driveway family homes. There are a lot of shopping centers, groceries, etc. Whitman Plaza is next to the oriental Oregon Market. There is a lot of ...Read More food joints, Tony Luke's nearby. Basically all amenities you want can be found. The neighborhoods are safe, with many town watch groups and friendly neighbors to look out for you. Be proactive and join neighborhood meetings and groups. Go out at one of the local bars or hop on the bountiful of public transportation to go to East Passyunk or Center City. The nightlife could use more newer businesses, as the newest one is South Bowl.
