Perth Amboy, NJ - Not The Best Place To Visit 1.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 27, 2012) The first time I ever visited Perth Amboy, NJ was when I went to see a long lost friend. I had no idea what to expect but I will say that it was one of the worst times I have ever had. I'm not sure if it was the location and or the local people. All I know was that I was ready to ...Read More go home after a few days. There were many things I personally didn't like about Perth Amboy, NJ. One of the things that I didn't like was that it wasn't much to do. My friend took me to the Perth Amboy Waterfront which was OK but after a while I wanted to experience something different.

I will say that I enjoyed eating at the various retaurants. Restaurants in Perth Amboy were much better than their local attractions. I was able to visit some of the expensive places, which were more or less seafood restaurants. I just so happen to enjoy the hole in the wall restaurants as well, surprisingly. Karini's was a Puerto Rican restaurant that was actually delicious.

The nightlife was absolutely dead. There was nothing to do and nowhere to go. My friend tried taking me to a few Latino bars but they were just as dead as the entire city. I am used to being apart of the party scene and that was one of the reasons why I couldn't wait to go home. Shopping was null and void when it came to this city as well. They small market places where you could shop for food but as for popular department stores that are found in L.A, I didn't get to visit any.
