The homes in Oak Park are very affordably priced. You can get a nice ranch in the very low six-figure range. It's pretty close to Detroit so keep that in mind when you're looking for a job. You might have to do a little searching to find a decent job around here. There are enough ...Read More
grocery stores and general stores in the area to provide the basics but if you're looking for nice malls or outlets you might not find much.
The Detroit Zoo is here and is probably the nicest area in Oak Park. It's a fun place to go spend an afternoon. There are a couple of other public parks that I visit often with my dog as well. If you have children, you might want to consider looking elsewhere because the school system here leaves a lot to be desired. Overall it's an alright city that is easy to afford but lacks a lot of long-term opportunities.
