Oak Grove, OR: Too Much Crime, Too Little Education 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Oak Grove would be a much better place to live if someone would take an interest in improving two things: the terrible schools and the high crime rate. Living in Oak Grove is becoming more and more unpleasant, which is sad because this used to be one of the best areas in Oregon. ...Read More There are still some really great people here, and the scenery is like something out of a painting, but the dropout rate is almost as high as the crime rate. That's really sad, and that can really give a nice town a black eye.

If you want to do something for fun here, there's The Belmont Goats petting zoo, Brewvana Portland Brewery Tours, and the very awesome Rose City Rollers roller derby. The Oregon Zoo is probably the best place to visit. You can find some local shops and restaurants too, and spend an afternoon window shopping. Thos place is not completely bad, but it certainly could be a lot better. Read Less
