Mount Clemens, Michigan is a suburb of Detroit located to the north of the city. The city was once a booming economic part of Detroit, but ever since the factories were outsourced the city has been in steep decline and has seen a major rise in crime. The public school system is part of Detroit Public Schools which is among one of the worst school districts in the country. The student to teacher ratio is way too high and the buildings are deteriorating greatly every single day. The streets are not safe by any means, and most residents are wondering where the police officers are, seeing as they don't usually respond right away to emergencies, or rather will take sometimes hours to respond to things like a home invasion, leaving many of these crimes unresolved. Mount Clemens is overall not an ideal place for families at all. The homeowners in the area have either sold or abandoned their homes or are renting them out to lower income families which is unfortunately a recipe for the decline of any community.
