are good, if not at least slightly above average according to many residents. Monroe is home to many beautiful churches and parks, and quaint small shops that keep the small town vibe thriving within the city. Crime is average, and usually well controlled.
Weather in Monroe is like what you'd find for the majority of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Winters can be frigid and snowy, while summers are hot and humid. Overall, Monroe is an excellent place to consider living if you're of retirement age or if you're raising a family. Though it doesn't boast much of a nightlife for younger people, Monroe's quaint charms and small-town feel is likely to attract many people who are looking for something safe and small but still close to the city.
