Midland: A Taste Of Nature 4 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 18, 2015) Midland, Mi is the county seat of Midland County. This is a city that has friendly neighbors and a pleasant atmosphere. It's an area where you can walk down the sidewalk and speak to others without feeling like you're doing something wrong. I moved from a town in California where ...Read More I didn't feel comfortable. The move took place about three years ago. It was the best decision I have ever made.

The Dow Gardens is one of my favorite places to visit. This is an area that features beautiful flowers and winding pathways. I can spend hours walking through the flowers, taking in the mesmerizing array of nature. The Chipppewa Nature Center is another place I like to visit. This is an attraction that is ideal for those who like history. There is information about the Native Americans who lived in the area and a little about the history of how Midland was developed.

Many of the places to visit are outdoors. This is a town where you can hike, bike or enjoy time spent playing with the family. I enjoy seeing how young children run after each other and experiencing the peace that nature brings. There are a few indoor attractions as well. I wouldn't say there are a lot of shopping malls, and the one that is large looks to be running down as many of the stores are closing. The Oxygen Lounge is a place to go if you want a good drink or a decent meal. There is live music at times during the week. Fricks Bar is another location where I like to go, especially if there's a game on that I want to see.
