Melrose is a nice small city just outside of Boston. There are a lot of victorians and other nice houses in the area. Melrose has a wonderful downtown with shops, restaurants and a Victorian fair every year. There is a shared Bruegger's Bagels and a Jamba Juice in the same buildi ...Read More
ng. Melrose also has very good schools such as Roosevelt and Horace Mann. The country club is very nice with the surrounding neighborhoods being the nicest areas of Melrose. It's a bit expensive but not as much as Lynnfield or Winchester. It's always been nicer than Malden and Medford and even those cities have some very nice neighborhoods. There is some crime but I come here often from neighboring Malden and have never felt unsafe here.

Melrose has a lot of historic sites that make visiting the city (or living there) especially interesting. There are also several dining options that you'll want to take advantage of, especially if you'll be entertaining family and friends who are coming to visit.

ewing is a great place to visit if you want to get more insight into how beer is made in the area and try some samples. This makes a fun outing with friends, and can even give you inspiration for the drinks you can pair with dinner.
Boda Borg Boston is not far from Melrose and offers interactive games and mazes that are fun for obstacle course lovers of all ages. If you want to incorporate the great outdoors into your Melrose adventure, Middlesex Fells Reservation is the place to be, since you can take in the tranquil scenery and observe some of the wildlife that is native to the area. Stone Zoo is another popular attraction, especially if you have family and friends who are animal lovers and want to have an outing that is both fun and educational.
