Concerning social Trends User Rating 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( Feb 09, 2021) When i moved here there really wasn't much traffic in town but we've become quite a crowded little town and growing. Utilities are ok we have some of the best water in the state but trash has gotten out of control with constant increases, it's now around 16.50 to tip a garbage ca ...Read More n every two weeks and on a 3 month billing cycle 99 dollars every 3 months is a big bill for a lot of people now. the homeless was a REAL bad issue a while back but the community stud up to our government and it's nowhere as bad but graffiti is becoming an issue. That said i would not stay at a park after dark just not safe in my opinion. the police leadership did a few questionable things during the year of riots making lots of locals question if we're safe here with leadership seaming supporting the destruction in portland "we don't live in portland for a reason". but the beat cops are amazing people who truly care. Fire is just amazing. we had a new events director come in and in a few short years managed to destroy our festivals. we only have 1 home improvement place and are in desperate need of a home depot. we have a thursday market that is simply great and fun with lots of neet vendors. downtown is simply GREAT with lots of shops, super friendly merchants all adding to a wonderful walking friendly downtown. Great restaurants and shops that are struggling to weather the storm and we most certainly hope they do. the city decided to put in the most amazingly stupid and dangerous sidewalk corners with sharp edges that are popping tires and bending wheels. I am just waiting for a pedestrian to trip over it fall into traffic like i did or get hurt and sue the hell out of Mac i only tore my slacks. the most amazingly bad idea was to build sidewalk corners with sharp edges just unbelievable. Sinking very fast User Rating 1.5 rating By Anonymous ( Oct 02, 2019) Have lived here 24 years. Was very nice then. Now, there is a homeless and drug problem. The city can't or wont solve it. Crime is rising rapidly. Was a crime victim 4 times in September 2019. Theft, vandalism, and car break ins. The police tell you to fill out an online f ...Read More orm and call your insurance company. So you suffer a loss, then make a claim, pay your deductible, and watch your insurance rates climb. It is a city of have and have nots. If you are into wines, it is a great place. The expensive wines ($80 plus/bottle) and dinners ($40/plate) is for the rich people. The rest of us, there isn't much here. And home prices for 1500 square foot are $375,000.00 at minimum. Schools are better than most in Oregon, but Oregon is 48th in the nation. Politically it is a blue state, county, and city. If you are conservative, you really don't fit in here, and the opposition is vocal. All in all, what once was a great place has fallen from grace. As I'm close to retirement, I have to tough it out. Otherwise, I would have moved 5 years ago. Read Less
Homeless and transients are increasing User Rating 3 rating By Kling ( Jan 27, 2018) I just moved from McMinnville due to the increase in homeless people and crime. The city does not know what to do and there are large loopholes in local laws which allow RVs, buses, cars to park for days at a time in any one area and ruin neighborhoods. I cannot recommend moving ...Read More to the city. Read Less
