Nice place - unless you live near outdoor gun range. 2.5 rating By bobbielle ( Apr 17, 2017) Matawan is your average Jersey suburb. It is has a decent main street with bars, a nice library and other miscellaneous shops. It is great for commuting into the city or down the shore. The best part of the area for me is the parks and the green space. I'm five minutes from Ch ...Read More eesequake state park and 10 minutes from Holmdel Park. I have a lovely view from my home, a view of the creek that is frequented by diverse species of birds including bald eagles. Unfortunately, I work from home and there is an outdoor shooting range near my home. During the warm months the shooting (of what at times seem to be like high powered fire arms) can go on for 2 - 8 hours. It definitely drives the property value down. I'm not sure why they don't move this indoors where it is not a nuisance to the neighbors. It feels like living in a war zone:-( Read Less
