Village that appears to be headed towards greatness 3 rating By Jon11951 ( Aug 25, 2013) It's Main Street is being updated. Plenty of choices in food. Recreation is in nearby Shirley. Shirley offers bowling, clubs, kayaking, canoeing, s'up boarding. Mastic Beach consists of Smith Point Beach for beach goers. It's a quaint location. The criminal element has dropped dr ...Read More amatically thanks to Suffolk Police and the village board and its mayor working in harmony. I rank the community library as great, because they have a helpful staff, a wide selection of resources and programs. Crab festival, is magnificent. Our Fire department is well organized and equipped to handle emergencies. We saw this with hurricane Sandy. I thank all our officials for their efforts with the hurricane. Our neighborhood banned together to get through that tough ride. Read Less
