The weather average is not what is shown on this site. In the summer June through early Sept daytime highs are in the high 80's and low 90's with high humidity. It's a great town to raise a family. ...Read More

After moving to Madison, Alabama two years ago, I didn't know what to think. There is a presence that I can't explain in the town. You can sense the pride among the people who live there, but there is also a division among the races. If I didn't move for my family, I wouldn't hav ...Read More
e moved to the area. That's not to say there aren't good things to experience. However, if you want to live in a town that is friendly all the time, then this wouldn't be it as many of the people keep to themselves.
Big Spring Park is one of my favorite places to go when I want to relax. There is a large pond in the center of the park and plenty of benches to sit on and think as well as look at the rest of the people who decide to play or walk along the trails. Dublin Memorial Park is another place to go, but it has more of playground equipment and is better suited for families.
The Mad County Winery is somewhere to visit if you like to see how things are made and if you like trying new alcoholic beverages. There are some flavors that I have seen made here that I wouldn't think of added to wine and other drinks, such as banana or peppers. However, it's a nice little getaway if you like to drink.
There really aren't a lot of attractions. Most of the things to do in Madison involve going outside and exploring nature. Many of the restaurants serve comfort foods, such as meatloaf and fried chicken. This is one of the benefits of living in the area as I love this kind of food.
