I live and own in lynn and I must say it is a pretty rough place to live, breath, think, thrive. It is very diverse which is nice and it has the potential to be a very sophisticated place base on its dynamics and characteristics but, I think there are too many corrupt friends or ...Read More
family members of people with wealth that hold positions in high places, running the city into the dump literally. There are random and unjustified fees and taxes that just pop up, like for example for trash pickup you have to pay $45.00 per quarter. After a year and a half my property taxes increased by +40% and my home value remained basically the same. I was told that the city values it each year with their own standard different from market standard. The parking department is very inconsistant and unreasonable, they give tickets for the most unfair and unpredictable reasons. Parts of the city reeks of waste and trash"particularly on the lynnway". The boardwalk on lynn shore drive is beautiful and a good place to workout and walk with nice parks, but the water gives off and atrocious stench that travels blocks away, I believe this is from the algae, the beach is mostly completely black, I would never trust going into this water. As for traffic, it is a parking lot, A 10 mile drive to one town over, takes me 35 minutes at best, and 25 minutes is spent trying to get out of Lynn because of the dense traffic and I live right on the coast.I have noticed a serious issue with people who appear to be under the influence of the serious drug epidemic hanging around on a regular day. It is very common to see trash on many streets and the efforts made to encourage dog waste clean up is futile as the streets are drowned in trash anyway. I honestly have not found any pros from living and owning in lynn from Revere. There is a common saying, "you get what you paid for" unfortunately I believe in Lynn you might get much less. But the goal is to be positive and do what you can to help where you can. Be safe and come see for yourself....

Well, Lynn is a city i hang out in often. First, the downtown area isn't too bright, but thats just run down, not chime-wise. In fact, the place in Lynn i go to most often, Downtown, is the most dangerous place in Lynn. Nothing bad happens there, so all the "crime" is coming from ...Read More
its night life, and thats when the monsters come out to play, and when the real apocalypse begins! Also, i haven't been to this city at night, but all the rumors you hear about all the crime in Lynn, is actually just the night life. During the days, its just normal. This place has access to a lot of buses, but unfortunately all the buses suck. Lynn garage has some of the longest and least frequent bus routes in the state! There are a few things in downtown, with a shopping plaza adjacent to the bus hub & rail station. Also, right outside the bus hub is the North Shore Community Collage. Around the bus hub & rail station are auditoriums, museums, city hall, dunkin donuts, and some restaurants I, personally have nothing to note on about the crime, but the place could use some spring cleaning. Just stay put of Lynn at night.

During my time in the city of Lynn, I have to say the most fun I had was at Nahant Beach Reservation. The days that I was not laying on the beach I experienced parasailing, windsurfing, and rented a Jet Ski. They have the best tasting hot dogs and fruit on the beach. One night wh ...Read More
en I was there they shot fireworks.
The communities and neighborhoods throughout the city are composed of a lot of outdoors type people. I saw a lot of people skateboarding or rollerbladding. There are lots of skate parks and bike lanes. Trees are all around the neighborhoods but thankfully there were not any bugs.
I may have just visited on a bad day because Fauci's Pizza was said to be the most delicious pizza ever and mine didn't taste very good, seemed to be missing something. The Blue Ox however was so delicious so after my meal I ordered wings to go. I wanted to eat them later back in my hotel room. The two main nightclubs in Lynn are Fran's Place and Fifty Club. Fran's Place caters to an older crowd who likes blues and country. The Fifty Club caters to a younger crowd and has one dollar drink and drown nights.
Square One Mall is the main place to shop in Lynn MA. The two other places to shop are Liberty Tree Mall and Lynn Marketplace. Between all three malls, I was able to find what I wanted and more.
