I’ve lived in Lynden for 1 year. Here are my impressions:
Pros:
Quaint downtown with a Dutch personality (bakery, boutiques, restaurants)
Civic pride-Clean, well-maintained neighborhoods (graffiti, pan-handling, and grunge are kept at bay)

I feel that living in Lynden is a cross between suburban and rural living. This is a small town located about 15 miles north of Bellingham, Washington. Most people who live here work in Bellingham. The most noticeable thing downtown is the Windmill on Front Street.

most notable thing about Lynden is that the architecture is inspired by the Danish. There are many churches in this town and people moving here should know that most businesses in this town are closed on Sundays. There isn't really any nightlife in Lynden and most things to do are located in Bellingham instead. The restaurants are mostly confined to national fast food chains such as McDonald's, Starbucks, Subway, and Dairy Queen.
I think people should know that despite being a small community that's pretty far away from most things Lynden is a bit high when it comes to cost of living. It is 18% higher than the average cost of living in the US.
