When people think of places to live in Texas, they're usually limited to places like Houston, Austin, and similar big cities. However, there's so many other places just beyond the boundary, Lumberton being just one example.
For a place most people haven't even heard of, Lumberton is pretty impressive. For one, it has a higher livability score than the average across all of Texas (80 as opposed to 70) and one of the lowest crime rates in the whole state. And, despite its origins in the southernmost state, the average summer temperature is a fairly livable 81 degrees Fahrenheit.
If there's one major criticism about living in Lumberton, Texas, though, it's that things are a bit barren. There's not a lot to do and it lacks many of the major amenities other cities have, with only six major grocery stores and a single library. That being said, many of the businesses that are there are locally owned, making for a very nice small town feel.
