The museum is in the middle of what is known as "Museum Row" a stretch of Louisville offering many different types of museums. The location is home to the "World's Biggest Bat" a massive bat leaning against the side of the building. Tickets range from 11 dollars for an adult to 6 dollars for children 12 and under. The Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory produces 60 percent of the baseball bats used by Major League Baseball players. The museum is open 7 days a week with factory tours starting at 9 a.m. every morning. The tours last about 30 minutes and allow visitors to view actual baseball bats being built. The site is also home to Louisville Sluggers corporate offices.

The Kentucky Oaks famous thoroughbred race is also ran at Churchill Downs the Friday before the Saturday Derby Day Event. Churchill Downs has two meets per year. The first one opens the week before the Kentucky Derby and runs until early July. The Kentucky Derby runs on the first Saturday of May. The second, or fall meet starts in late October and closes Thanksgiving Weekend in November. The Downs were built in 1895 and now covers 147 acres. The Park has both the main dirt oval shaped track and a turf track.
