safe city....no diversity 3 rating By angelkiss ( May 06, 2015) my neighborhood and the people who live in it. I take the same route everyday. But the people don't speak, they will walk by me and act as though they do not see another human being walking right next to or by them. There are several foreigners in the neighborhood, Polish, Hispa ...Read More nics, Asians, people from India. spectaculadiversity of people but the attitudes and behavior are not diverse. Instead of being pleasent and just saying hi, my neighbors will cross the street just to avoid me. The foreign men are extremely rude, they have have slammed their doors when I walk by their houses, they will go inside their house and will come back out after I pass by. They actually look at me with hatred in their eyes, a scoll on their face, stare at me, watch me around their property. I've witnessed an elderly women taking a leisurely stroll, I was walking my dog several houses behind her. When she saw me, she picked up her pace like she was walking in a marathon. I am half her age... fit, but she was determined I was not going to catch up to her. I'm realizing I'm not welcome in my neighborhood.

This is a working class neighborhood. If you are retired, everyone works here. These houses have 1 car garages at best 1500sft some add on, but the houses are very basic absolutely nothing special. I'm from the hills of Altadena, Ca a private drive very exclusive. I'm used to my neighbors being very pleasant and taking the time to get to know everyone. Not allowing sterotypical thoughts to become their reality. Everyday I don't know what I'm going to encounter just walking my dog. The rude behavior and childish attitudes are getting old from these grown adults I'm living around. I live here because its close to my job. I'm a African American women who breaths like you, works like you, wants peace and quiet like you. Read Less
