I have lived in Los Angeles for the better part of my life, specifically San Pedro. And, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else in the world. The culture, history, weather, and palm trees just make me feel at home. Now, that is not to say that San Pedro is perfect, far from it. ...Read More
There are of course some not nice parts of San Pedro, areas where a lot of crime happens, but for the most part San Pedro is a nice place to live. In fact, if you stay above Hill Side, the area is very family friendly, with plenty of parks for you to visit. However, if you were hoping for nightlife establishments you'll be disappointed; it has more of a suburban feel to it because of that, though. So, as long as you know where the boundaries are, San Pedro is a very enjoyable place to call home.
One thing I never had a problem with is finding grocery stores to shop at. They are all over the place in San Pedro, and a few are within walking distance of where I live. This is one of the great things that I like about San Pedro, especially when it's a nice day out, you can just walk down to the store and get what you need. Now, when it comes to restaurants I would like it if San Pedro had a little more to offer. There are a few local places, and fast food restaurants.
I have lived in San Pedro, Los Angeles, CA for a long time, and I really wish they would do more for entertainment. There are a few museums to check out, but other than that there isn't anything to see. However, one thing that is worth mentioning I feel is the school system isn't too bad in San Pedro. In fact, there is a 75% graduation rate at the high school, which is 12% higher than that of Los Angeles. For most of my life I have lived in San Pedro, Los Angeles, CA, and I do really think the good outweighs the bad.
Basically, if you happen to live in the right area like me, San Pedro is a very enjoyable Neighborhood to live in. But, it is true that there are very bad and dangerous areas of San Pedro, so make sure you know where to live. The look, culture, and school system is reason enough to live here.
