Experience having live in Lorton, VA 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) My experience with having lived in Lorton is mediocre at best.

Lorton is simply okay. If you want to have a bit of a more hospitable place nearing the South as opposed to living in Northern Virginia. But it is still placed in Virginia, a state overall not generally well-received ...Read More when it comes to genuine hospitality to new comers/tourists.
When they say that "Virginia is for the lovers", whom they are referring to are the old worn-down retired folk that come to settle here to live a more quiet and peaceful life near the somewhat-boonies. Many of them are retired veterans, being so close to government offices displaced from as far as D.C.

If you're young and full of energy, coming to live here would be an absolute death sentence for your seek of entertainment and pleasure. For the thriving and young, there's nothing to offer here. Unless you're willing to make the grueling long transit to D.C. where there's barely much to offer there as well. The nightlife scene is dead.
However, shopping centers and malls are placed in rather convenient locations in Lorton, so there's that if you're a big consumer. Read Less
