Most tourists driving down I-4 to get to Disney or the other theme parks don't even realize they just passed Lockhart before hitting Orlando. Living in Lockhart is all about being off the radar from tourists and traffic, snug in our beautiful city with plenty of amenities of our own.
The best areas in Lockhart are the lakes, and we have a monster one called Lake Apopka a few miles to our west that is accessible by way of a number of different parks. If you love being outdoors all year, this city is for you. I have outdoor outlet malls down the road, and some of the greatest diversity in dining anywhere in the state.
When we have family visit from Jersey, we take them to all the theme parks with our Florida discount. I can hit I-4 and get to the white-sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in an hour, or get to Daytona Beach on the east coast in the same time.
