Boring town that is stuck in the past 1 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 13, 2026) Leavenworth, Kansas is an old dying town. There are no jobs here unless you want to work in the prison. Homes are mostly bungalows that look like 100 year old haunted houses. Summers are hot and humid and winters freezing cold. Crime is very high for a town of this size. The families range from young to old and the housing market is affordable and the homes are great quality. Mil ...Read More itary history is the basis of this city. It is neat how kids and families can learn the history when attractions are visited. The military museums and the cemetery keep the city a great tourist attractions.

The shops are smaller, but the feel of the cafe's create a homey atmosphere. Its a great time to catch up with the neighbors and the other town folk. Downtown feels like a historic city with the amenities of the current everyday life.

Leavenworth Kansas is a great place to enjoy a small town atmosphere with the big city life close. Its a great place to be and enjoy a quiet lifestyle!! Read Less
