10 Years In Lawrence! 4 rating By Anonymous ( Dec 22, 2014) I have lived in Lawrence, MA for about 10 years. This is one of the quietest places I have seen, and it's a beautiful area to raise my children. There are several parks in the city, and I enjoy meeting new people when I walk on the sidewalks in town.

Imajine That is one of the ...Read More places that I like to take my children, especially when it's raining outside or they are out of school. The location is a museum that has many exhibits, some that are hands on so that we can see how things work. It's better for younger children instead of the pre-teens, but there is still a good bit of information that can be found. The best time to go is in the morning before the school groups arrive. This is another reason I like Lawrence so much. The school system is wonderful. All of the teachers who I have encountered are willing to help the students learn. The class sizes are small, and there is usually a high amount of parent involvement for special events.

When I want to get some time away from home after work, I stop by Bar Rock Café. It serves an amazing hamburger, and the environment is usually quiet until later in the evening. I found that it's not wise to go when there's a big game on television because it can get loud. The drinks are served at a typical bar, or you can enjoy your beverage with your meal at your table. There is sometimes live entertainment in the evening. Read Less

Then they refuse to let anyone else ask the children if they said it, because they don't want the truth to come out, because if the truth came out, they would not be able to make profit from the federal Governement for "adopting them out" & no one in that whole area, (political officials) will lift a finger to change the DCF's evil ways, or hold them accountable in any way for the crime & trauma they cause ag children & parents. They lie, cheat, falsely accuse, fabricate & twist statements in court document paperwork, hide evidence proving innocense of their false accusations, & basically treat parents, especially fathers, with no respect whatsoever, they threaten, &
intimidate, the children, & the parents, useing any unethical tactic & trickery & dishonesty. All this, to profit off of children. They do not care at all about what is "best for children," they only care about what is best for" their bank accounts." I would not raise children there or live there whether single, married or retired. The place is dirty and cold and the worst possible place to bring your children/grandchildren unless you want to risk police storming in with DCF and forcing you to stay in their dirty state trying to get your children back. Get them as far away from MA. as possible, they have a scam going and it involves selling your kids if they can get their hands on them. They will make up disgusting lies and treatise your children for a buck. Seems the entire state is in on it, DCF is unregulated and encourages anyone to make up anything they want to with no punishment for lies. Seems they encourage liars who have a bone to pick with the children's parents to call in false DCF reports so they can snatch children and put them up for sale. I assume the government is making money off this also, since they are unregulated purposely and running rouge rampaging families for bonus bucks. From the statistics if you look them up you will see only 10 percent of the children DCF nabs actually do need to be removed the other 90% appear to be kids they grabbed for profit. Read Less

The city of Lawrence has a lot of history so its a good place to visit if you like studying old America. It is known as the 'Immigrant City' and its true. When you arrive you will be able to get all kinds of delicious and ethnic foods, like authentic Italian or delicious Chinese. The Lawrence Heritage State Park is a huge 23 acre park which is like a living history lesson. It tells you about the life of the workers, but feels too much like a field trip.

The best thing about Lawrence is the fact that its really close to Boston, where if you go to the right areas you can have a great time. Lawrence and Boston both are really urban, so if you aren't used to a big city you will be uncomfortable. The people there are really passionate about their community, and it shows. Read Less
