s Kelso runs right along Interstate 5 and has easy access to the Colombia River, and it has good schools (which are a major employer).
There are only two real problems with Kelso; one is that the nearest nightlife aside from a few bars is all the way down in the Vancouver/Portland metro area (about a 45 minutes drive). The other is that it is only 24 miles from the slopes of Mount St. Helens, and during the 1980 eruption and earthquake, Kelso got a lot of ashfall. As a result of being near an active volcano, some of the outskirts of the town are built in landslide zones. But the area is beautiful.
