Amazing place with Whale Watch Alaska 5 rating By Whale Watch Alaska ( Mar 08, 2019) Each 3 hour whale watching tour in Juneau includes ½ hour transportation each way from the downtown Juneau cruise ship dock to Auke Bay, where we disembark for the best of Alaska and wildlife cruise. We cruise around rainforest islands of Alaska’s Inside Passage and carefully ...Read More navigate around pods of migrating humpback and both resident and transient orca for 2 hours. Once we are close to these magnificent creatures we dip our hydrophone in the water to listen to what the they are saying and singing to each other and to us. Bald Eagles, Puffin, Surf Scoters, Seagulls, Blue Heron, ducks, Steller Sea Lion, Seal, and lighthouses, are but a few of the things you will see and experience on this all Alaska adventure.

Our Alaska tours are fully narrated by whales, birds, sea lions, and your captain or naturalist and are USCG certified, licensed, bonded, and insured. You are guaranteed to see whales leaving you breathless and educated or your money back.

Each trip begins in downtown Juneau outside right outside the Mt. Robert’s Tram that goes up to the top of the mountain. After your excursion we bring you right back to downtown unless you want to want to be dropped off somewhere else. We can also pick you up at your hotel or B&B Read Less
Great place to raise a family but isolated 2.5 rating By scuttlescott ( Oct 11, 2015) We really like Juneau and feel it is a great and safe place for our younger children. However living away from extended family is tough especially when considering the cost to fly a family out of town. As our children have grown sometimes it feels like the resources in town are l ...Read More acking.
To live here you MUST not be afriad of hiking or getting rained on. There are a lot of awesome scenic places to hike to (there are great views on the side of the road too!).
Finding a place to rent is near impossible, especially if you have a pet, and cost significantly more than you'd expect to pay down south. Read Less
My Recent Trip to Juneau, AK 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 26, 2010) I spent last Summer visiting my aunt in Juneau, and for the most part I enjoyed my trip. I had a hard time adapting to the weather changes in Juneau from my hometown in Hilo, Hawaii, but the area is just beautiful. There are many attractions and a lot of things to do and see in J ...Read More uneau, like the humongous glaciers. I was in awe when I saw them for the first time, but actually got used to them after awhile which I didn't think would be possible.

The restaurants are pretty good in the area, although I didn't find a lot of different options in terms of cuisine. I actually ate a lot of things you would find in most other states of Country. Although, the fish in Juneau is pretty unbelievable so I ended up eating a ton of it. There is a lot of hiking available in the different parks throughout the city, which my aunt and I both used to stay in shape throughout the summer. Overall, Juneau is great to visit but I am not sure I would want to live there year round-it's too cold for my taste. Read Less
