As a local business owner, i cant express enough, the sence of hometown pride one has to have to rate their hometown. Born and raised here in Johnstown. We, like alot of towns, have alot of ups and downs. We do have issues with infrastructure. But. We also have a wide range of ac ...Read More
tivities and events to enjoy. There are alot of great places to eat, drink, and party. There are family oriented activities that we enjoy often. I take pride in saying im from Johnstown. Even though we can sometimes get a bad reputation, it is not that experience for everybody. Come see for yourself!

Johnstown was once a booming metropolis where everyone was doing well. Now, it's gone to complete garbage. The only thing this place has going for it are its restaurants, and I can't even give that a 10, because there are places Johnstown needs bad. People tell me that as long as ...Read More
you don't associate with the "bad people" here, you don't have to worry about crime, but you always have to fear about getting caught in crossfire, or if someone you're close to is associated with shady people. There's really not much to do here, either. The mall is dying, there's no amusement parks, finding a job here is impossible, and if you want your kid to get a good high school education, DO NOT send them to Greater Johnstown School District. The better neighborhoods to live in are too expensive, the cheaper neighborhoods are either filled with crooks or crazy people, and the drug problem is really rough here. Also run by a very corrupt city council. I only live here now because of my family and closest friends.

The on-going attraction that is a must do in Johnstown is the Johnstown Included Plane. It was built in 1891 and still runs between April 1 and Dece ...Read More
mber 31. Don't forget to try the Italian Restaurant at the top.
Being on the Conemaugh River you can find outside activities to pass the days away. Greenhouse Park was recently renovated and you can take a path down to the Conemaugh River to enjoy a lazy afternoon.
University of Pittsburgh Johnstown is the largest regional campus of University of Pittsburgh. So if you are in school for the first time or looking to continue your education you have a top notch university at your fingertips.
I love to go and see the Johnstown Tomahawks who are part of the NAHL or the AAABA Baseball Tournament.
Johnstown is a bit isolated from the bigger cities such as Pittsburgh.
