I fell prey to a man that stalked me.Being from the country and needing to come here after being homeless, I was naive, and his charm and demeanor was such, that I hadn't a clue. That soon changed.3months of hell, four police reports, and burned out law enforcement didn't help me(he ...Read More
tried to get me addicted, repeatedly wanted to traffick me out, wanted me to have sex with his dealer and so on. I was at a shelter and it was mandatory to go look at apartments. Having no vehicle,I had to walk the city. He always found me....it was horrific)Thanksgiving eve, I was thrown by my neck, denied my phone to call 911,held against my will as he gutted my purse.he made me lay on the floor, and I thought I was going to die. At 5:30am,he walked me back to my place,so he could take my aluminum foil to make a Turkey for his family. Still reeling in pain and shock,we walk across town on Thanksgiving morning, and on the way up my stairs he heard quarters in my pocket and made me give him those. The police were nice the first call.but the next day when I needed them, the female officer victim blamed me. EVERY previous REPORT they said if anything was out of the ordinary on this man, they would call me.they never did. My hearing was not 60 or 90 days later, but 9 months .He showed up an hr late,I never saw(or met)my assistant DA,never saw the judge.i begged the mediator to make sure there was no plea, but there was. 1yr probation- for an untreated schizophrenic crack addict, who has been arrested 30times in 6yrs

I’ve lived in Jamestown for a few years now and I will say, I personally love it here, and for more than one reason. I’m a pan outdoors kinda guy and with Chautauqua Lake minutes away, there are ample opportunities to get outside throughout the year. It’s easy to see that a ...Read More
lot of the churches in the area as well as community centers really are investing in the town. It’s small, but packs a big punch.
Cost of living is very low, the community is filled with wonderful people that are often super supportive. There are farms and and woodlands along the lake, great for camping or hiking. Of course, because of the water, there are many chances to go out boating, fishing and in the winter, skiing and ice skating.
Where amenities are concerned, the city is growing, there have been an influx in more shops and cafes that transform the town. It’s a slow one, nothing like the city but something I deep,y enjoy.
