I live in Upper Glendale, and it has shopping, fine dining, great communities, tons of attractions and beautiful landscaping. Although, the highlife, such as clubbing and what not isn’t really happening. The neighbors are friendly and always ready for a good conversation. Glendale is home to the Luke Air Force training base and I live across the street from the south runway. While I get to see all of the air shows from my front porch, ...Read More the daily noise of the jets taking off on their practice missions can be a bit annoying at times. On the other hand, I love the peaceful gated community I live in and all that Glendale has to offer.

The city is rich in Spanish culture with a fascinating historical past, and some of the roads on the outskirts of Glendale are still lined with fields of crops. Downtown Glendale is unique and full of interesting, beautiful, restored old homes and buildings. Merchants now occupy many of these historical buildings and the city puts on year-round events here that have something for everyone in the family.

Glendale and the surrounding towns and communities present many indoor and outdoor shopping malls, famous Cardinals Stadium, University of Phoenix Stadium, Cerreta Candy Company and Thunderbird Park. The city has many great restaurants and is also noted for having some of the best Mexican food restaurants in Arizona, including, Bitzee Mama's, 3 Margaritas and Rubio's Baja Grill. Glendale has great school systems and many neighborhood family parks. I not only love living in Glendale because of all it has to offer, but because the people who live here are very friendly. Also, those who enjoy football won't want to miss the Arizona Cardinals playing at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Glendale also has great a bunch of interesting festivals and attractions. The Chocolate Festival in February is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. In April, Glendale plays host each year to the Jazz and Blues Festival, which brings great artists and a lively atmosphere to the city.

For dining, my favorite stop is La Perla restaurant. They serve mouthwatering Mexican food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Glendale is also home to several good shopping districts, including the Historic Downtown. This area has been named one of the country's ten best places for shopping by "USA Today" and "Sunset Magazine." Obviously, Glendale is more than just a haven for sports fanatics! Read Less

      Glendale is one of Phoenix's largest suburbs, and the city is located less than ten miles from the heart of downtown Phoenix. Its location to the city make it a popular choice for working families and young professionals who work in the city but cannot afford the steep real estate prices of the downtown area. Glendale offers its residents a high quality of life with many entertainment options available in the city limits. Glendale is actually the site of the Arizona Cardinals Stadium. The city has done a wonderful job hosting several Super Bowls that have brought a lot of economic prosperity to the area.

      Today, the city has grown to over 250,000 residents as recent years have seen more and more people moving to the area to buy or rent a home. Transportation options in Glendale are plentiful, and the city has a public transit option for those who do not want to have to deal with driving and parking. GUS Bus Service and Dial-a-Ride are both popular options. The ride share service is pretty unique to the city, and riders and drivers are able to link up with each other in order to share the cost of commuting. There are also a number of taxi cab companies that operate in the city.

      The city takes advantage of its warm weather to spend time outdoors. Wildlife World Aquarium, Zoo and Safari is a fun attraction for kids that provides a glimpse into the animal kingdom and the many wonders that it holds. White Tank Mountain Regional Park is a fun place to take the family for a weekend camping getaway. There are miles and miles of trails as well for those who want to get out and explore on a bike or an all-terrain vehicle. Sahuaro Ranch Park offers green space and shade for families to enjoy. It is the perfect place to head for a picnic.

      Luke Air Force Base is one of the largest employers in the area. This base has an important mission of training fighter pilots to fly some of the most advanced aircraft in the world. The Arizona Coyotes NHL team are another large employer. The Coyotes have been one of the Valley of the Sun's most popular teams since moving to the city. The Thunderbird School of Management rounds out the list of large employers located in Glendale.

      Arrowhead Ranch, Marshall Ranch, and Garden Eye are great neighborhoods for those who are looking to buy or rent the home of their dreams. Each of the areas has good public schools, a lot of shopping opportunities, and they offer residents all of the amenities that you would expect from master-planned community living.
