Garden City Michigan: Detroit's Sister City

I had a great stay while living in Garden City Michigan, Detroit’s sister suburbs. I always felt secure in the city as well as neighboring areas. Crime is not an issue in the village that we have grown to know as Garden City. The living index is somewhat high nationally but is about average for the state. Newcomers may find it a little arduous to find above par school curriculum for their families, however, the teachers are generally professional and extremely helpful.

Many do not realize how much history Garden City has behind it. The town opened the first Kmart retail store in 1962. It also is home to the first and oldest Little Caesars on Cherry Hill Road, and the first eat-in McDonald’s. In my opinion, these are some of the best areas in Garden City. The city has a lot of appeal for families but does not have much to offer in the form of entertainment or amenities. This can easily be resolved by venturing out to Detroit or other metro areas.
