Fridley Is Nick-Named 'Friendly Fridley' For A Good Reason 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) I've lived in Fridley for more than a decade and I absolutely love it. It's right next to Minneapolis and sits on the Mississippi River. The town has been around for a couple of hundred years, so it has this great vintage feel while not feeling like a semi-abandoned old town.

Not just because we're right next door to Minneapolis, but because Fridley is home to several larger medical companies like Medtronic and Unity Medical. There is also a lot of manufacturing and a regional distribution center for Target. No matter what kind of job you're looking for, you can find it here!

But for me the best thing about Fridley is the sense of community. Houses of all sizes and budgets, great schools and all sorts of local small businesses. The city's motto is "Friendly Fridley" and it's really true. Whether it's the big summer "49" festival or any of the local neighborhood fairs, Fridley is the perfect mix of small-town values and big city opportunities. Read Less
