Like Nashville, Franklin has exploded in the 30 years since I have been coming to beautiful Middle Tennessee on a regular basis. And like Nashville, Franklin is changing quickly with an influx of 'refugees' from self-sabotaging, insanely high tax states like CA, IL and NY. The ar ...Read More
ea is growing more flashy and more phony (like so-called 'country' music generally). Despite this, the city currently remains an oasis of suburban sprawl that seems to work well nonetheless. Really good dining and shopping options, a walkable downtown square, a legit nod to its history, lovely neighborhoods, and a clear identity make Franklin a lovely place to live. The downsides: traffic, sprawl, and overdevelopment lead the list. A real mixed bag...the positives are many and the negatives are fewer but notable.

I can say with confidence that Franklin, Tennessee is one of the best small town cities to live in. I have lived in many places though my life time, my husband being in the military, and this is one of the best places I have lived. I cannot think of a better place to raise a fami ...Read More
ly. I have lived in Franklin, TN for the past four years and we are even trying to extend here. I have lived in California, Georgia, to Maine, and Franklin, TN has been my favorite. There is so much history here and things to do. Franklin has been named best Southern town by the "Garden and Guns Magazine". Main street in Franklin is also very romantic and beautiful. Not only is this city easy to find a job and grow in a career, it has been named one of the top 50 cities to start a small business. There is a lot of shopping available here, but my favorite is all the antique shopping. We also love visiting the Carnton Plantation, which is where the Battle of Franklin took place. If you go to Cool Springs Galleria, that is where are the name brand stores are located, but there are so many must see quaint downtown shops.
The night life is also so much fun! They have some fun and unique bars that serve the best burger you can find! They are open pretty late and Bunganut Pig is one of my favorite bars, with the best live bands. The people are very friendly and welcoming. You are definitely going to see the Southern charm people always talk about being in the South.
Franklin, TN is a place I call home now and is exactly what my family and I have been looking for.
