This is a fabulous place for your family to be stationed. We have been located here for the past five years, with my husband who is in the military. We are located within Killeen, Texas which is conveniently located near Austin and Waco, so there are plenty of things to do with the family. The weather is beautiful year round with wonderfully warm temperatures in the summer and even in the winter months, we can dress lightly and enjoy plenty of outside time.

There is a real sense of community in Fort Hood. Everyone is in the same situation and you will find people constantly trying to help one another out in any way that you can whether you are new to the base or you have been here for year. You make friends almost instantly that become family before you know it.

The local restaurants provide great southern barbeque and this is such a small, quaint town, there are a lot of smaller mom and pop type restaurants that will know who you are in just a few visits.
