Want to correct other review. The Enchanted Forest is in Salem, not Forest Grove. The Pacific College helps to bring in cultural events. The Grand Lodge brings in Music. Yes, the town is pretty quiet at night but they have the chalk art festival, the downtown has a Halloween ...Read More
walk for kids, the Concours d'elegance car show once a year, the Knights festival. There are some great wineries in the area and a sake place. In the summer there is a wine, dinner event outside downtown and Forest Grove has its own Farmers Market. The schools are almost half hispanic but still served our children well and as adults they all are glad they were raised there. It's not that far from Portland (around 35 minutes) and the shopping opportunities in Hillsboro. The town's downtown is dotted with antique shops. It's a strong community and with the influence of the university, more educationally minded than most.

Forrest Grove is such a great community to raise a family. It's just a short commute from Portland and has all the pleasantries of a small town community. It's not a very busy town during the school year, however during spring break and summer, the town gets very busy with touris ...Read More
ts coming to The Enchanted Forrest Amusement Park.
The Enchanted Forrest is the main attraction of the city. It's a really cool theme park based on fairy tales like Pinocchio and Alice and Wonderland. Forrest Grove is home of the World's Tallest Barber Pole and plenty of vineyards that serve wine tastings and most have a full restaurant as well.
For the outdoor enthusiasts there are plenty of great activities from hiking, swimming, river trips, and wetlands. There are many summer and fall working opportunities on the farms in the area as well.
Pacific University resides in Forrest Grove among the greenery that used to be farmland. It's a nice university town without being expensive. It's a great bedroom community of Portland that has everything you could need. Forrest Grove is a great place to live when you want to be big city close but don't want to live inside the city.
