After living in Exeter for 4 years and getting out at the first possible opportunity, let me assure you that this is NOT a place you want to consider if you are looking to relocate. This is by far not one of the best areas in California to even consider. Where do I even start? A ...Read More
crime rate straight out of a bad television show. Run-down neighborhoods full of boarded-up properties and litter. People who come and go as if they don't see the squalor around them. Schools that have a dropout rate that is growing every day. No jobs, no housing to be had, and no citizens who care.
Even the "attractions" here lack any kind of oomph. There's Good Times Adventures rafting and kayaking, the Hell of a Half Marathon Race (exciting, am I right?), Exeter Hobbies which has a few kid's activities but is essentially a toy and arts and crafts store, and a few local bars and restaurants. Save yourself some time and a very depressing experience and bypass Exeter altogether on your journey to find a decent place to live. This ain't it.
