I moved to Enterprise, NV about two years ago. The reason for the move was because of a job transfer, and while the money is better, the city still isn't something I'm used to seeing on a daily basis. There are too many businesses, and the cost of living is a lot higher than what ...Read More
I would have imagined for a city of this size. However, there are some attractions, especially for children, that are second to none in the city.
My home is currently a two-bedroom apartment, and while it does have a swimming pool and other amenities to make it comfortable, the rent is still about $900 a month. The crime rate is rather high for the area, but it's mostly the petty crimes like bicycle thefts and teenagers trying to find something to do on the weekends. The Las Vegas Speedway is a favorite place to go when NASCAR season starts, and there are some dirt track events that I have seen that are entertaining. If you like jazz, then the House of Blues is somewhere that you must go, but try to attend a show during the week as the weekends can get very crowded.
There are probably more dinner shows in this area than I care to think about. It seems like every restaurant has some kind of show involved. I like hearing music while I eat, but there really should be a limit. Miniature golf is an activity that there is no trouble in finding as there are courses on almost every corner. Roller skating and playing in parks that have water fountains are also popular activities for families.

Enterprise, NV
Enterprise is a suburb of Las Vegas, Nevada. It's located at the southwest edge of the metropolis of Las Vegas, which includes the cities of Paradise, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor and Henderson. If you're a fan of outdoor fun, it's an easy drive from Enterprise to Lake Mead to the east and the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to the west. This city is densely populated and has many options for dining and shopping as well as a strong housing market.
Getting around Enterprise is not difficult, though most residents have cars. The city offers many bike routes and the public transportation for the entire Las Vegas area encompasses all major outlying cities, including Boulder City to the east. Because Enterprise includes both Las Vegas airports along the eastern edge, shuttle services in the area are easy to access. Of course, this city is close to many gambling options. In addition, the Silverton Aquarium is conveniently located at the junction of state highway 160 and interstate 15. Fans of classic and unique cars will enjoy a stop at the Shelby American facility.
Shopping is easy and convenient in the whole region. From the Las Vegas Premium Outlets at the intersection of highway 15 and highway 215 to the Arroyo Market Square just west of South Rainbow Blvd, you'll be able to shop for the basics as well as searching for a treat or a bargain.
Interstate 15 cuts straight south through the eastern edge of Enterprise. The 215 beltway runs along the northern edge and the city is bisected by state highway 160 or Blue Diamond Road. Neighborhoods are established to provide privacy and reduced traffic off of these major thoroughfares. You can enjoy quiet streets and expect easy access to walking paths and bike trails.
Fans of a game of golf will enjoy a trip down the Southern Highlands Parkway for a round or two at the Southern Highlands Gold Club. If you're looking for great schools, check out the Southern Highlands Preparatory Academy.
Enterprise offers a strong housing market and stable, quality schools for families. The southeast edge of the city offers a cluster of elementary schools, a middle school and high school as well as the preparatory academy.
Additionally, the state of Nevada is friendly to senior citizens and offers a climate that's kind. You'll never have to shovel sunshine. No matter when you get the chance to move to and settle in this city, you can be secure in the knowledge that you can age in place in this stable and tidy city. Citizens of Enterprise are close to culture and sports as well. Just follow the 215 beltway north and west to the Las Vegas Ballpark or the city's art museum.
