My family has lived in Encid for most of my life. I love the small home town feel, the nostalgia of an old city, the old homes, the beautiful flowers and the care that people take of their homes. The City of Encid can easily transport you to another time and place when things wer ...Read More
e much simpler. The town is located just 100 miles from two major cities, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. If the shopping in Encid is not enough or someone wants to experience life on a grander scale they can easily travel to the larger cities. While it is a smaller town there are still plenty of theaters, comedy clubs, entertainment venues and fabulous food and drinks on every corner.
It is doubtful that you will get bored in Encid. There are many city parks and the beautiful weather most of the year is perfect for outdoor activities. Just being a short drive to the coast, it is easy to spend a weekend at a beach in Texas. Those looking to relocate to the area might want to be forewarned that the prices of real estate is higher than most and the market is hot. Houses that are listed in the right price range will be sold quickly. We even made one of the big morning shows on the network because of our booming real estate here. One of the things that make Encid an area for the well to do is the fact that Oil is a major component to our healthy economy. The Vance Air Force Base is located here and also helps to contribute to a wealthy economy.
Those interested in site seeing, should check out the Cherokee Strip Museum or the Railroad Museum of Oklahoma. Find the history of the area and how Encid was once called Skeleton Station up until 1885. The history is rich here and so is the culture. My favorite thing to do in my free time is to visit all the restaurants that have that down home feel and superior food. Encid is a great place to live, in fact I cannot think of living anywhere else.
