This fun university town is ideal for young adults and people starting families. Located just east of the magnificent Cascade Mountain Range, Ellensburg enjoys a dry climate abound with various recreational opportuni ...Read More ties. The primary job options in the area center around agriculture, most notably the production of timothy hay. Residents enjoy a much lower cost of living than the nearby Puget Sound region.

The best areas of Ellensburg are reflected at Central Washington University. The town is centered around the school and its athletics programs. The community comes alive in the summer, as the warm weather draws people out of their homes to socialize. A highlight of the summer is the Kittitas County Farmers Market, held every Saturday in the center of downtown Ellensburg. But the granddaddy attraction of them all is the annual Ellensburg Rodeo. Held every Labor Day Weekend, this event is the largest rodeo in the state of Washington. Read Less
