A happy small town 3.5 rating By Ckdraughn ( Jun 07, 2012) Dumfries is a little town outside of Quantico, Virginia. It is a blend of military and civilian people who intermingle nicely. There is at times a mixture of traffic for the Marine base activity and just people traveling south. I have lived near Dumfries almost seven years and ...Read More it is a very peaceful place to live. I have seen it change over time to a more middle class area. It used to be very dirty and run down but that has begun to change over the years. The renovations taking place will soon make this a hub of business and government contractor jobs. Read Less
