Crossville is a Great place to live User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Oct 10, 2019) We bought our home here in 2013, and it's located out in the Country about 12 miles from downtown..It's a peaceful paradise around here..This a great place to call home, and raise a family..The greater majority of residents are older retired folks around here..The town is so safe ...Read More id sleep on the sidewalk , nobody is going to bother you..Crime is Low, despite the hyped crime rates it dont add up, i think that mostly comes from things that happen out on the interstate, but get counted as our town..We have a Fair ground that has things like the Carnival , Gun Shows, and TV actors that stop by like cast members from the Dukes of Hazzard show..We have a great apple orchard , and corn maze place that is open this time of year..Its a small town living kinda place, its laid back ,and country..I guesse if you are in your 20's looking for Night Clubs, and trendy places this may not be for you..However if you are looking for a safe place to raise a family or retire this is a very nice place with low taxes, and affordable housing...I think the schools are good too, both my children attend school here..Its the kinda school where the kids take turns bringing down Old Glory at the end of the school day using great respect, as they fold her up for the day..The only draw back here is the jobs situation, the town has some seriously ignorant people running the city..They seem to drive away business on purpose, keeping lots of job oppertunity's away from here..I myself do not work around here, and would be hard pressed to survive on whats paid around here..So if you are financially stable retiree, or travel for work this place is for you.. It is terrible User Rating 1 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 14, 2018) It's completely ass backwards, there are nothing but drug addicts, low ball employers who expect you to work to death for air, and shiesty people. There are a few good people but they're outnumbered. There are too many independent franchises owned by scam artists from various cit ...Read More ies who rip off their employees, the retirees and the clueless locals. Yet everyone thinks it's so much cheaper to live here. Compared to California, New York, and that rathole Florida, that may be right, but fact is this is one of the least affordable places in TN. After you add everything up, even Nashville is way more affordable. Crossville is broke, trashy, and depressing. The roads are in terrible condition, the property crime is through the roof, and everyday I swear I'm in a big nursing home with elderly who shouldn't be allowed to drive. The nicer areas are way too expensive. If you move here and you don't already draw a good pension, you will get stuck here because you won't make enough money to live let alone leave. Read Less
Small Town Feel, close to other cities User Rating 3.5 rating By BC Real Estate ( Nov 26, 2015) I moved to Crossville, TN in 2005. My kids were still young, 5 and 8. I loved the small town feel and the Homestead school was perfect. Work isn't the easiest to find here but WOW, what a beautiful place to live. Lots of outdoors activities, the playhouse is fun for a once or ...Read More twice a year visit. I like that within 30 to 45 minutes you can get the big city accommodations like mall shopping or more restaurant selections. Winters are pretty mild with an occasional snow for beautiful enjoyment. Don't worry though....snow doesn't last more than a day or two around here. Overall i've really enjoyed living in Crossville, TN. I've learned the real estate market well over the last 10 years. If you find yourself moving to Crossville TN I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Brian Christopher and Real Estate is my specialty. Read Less
