Code enforcement is quick to hand out violations and fines for minor transgressions such as weeds, while the city maintained streets, sidewalks, medians, and open spaces are in horrid states of disrepair. Unrealistic expectations. Depending on where you live there are old grumpy code trolls who like to think that they live in the Broadmoor and that every house and yard should be immaculate, because average people don't have to work or anything. The area of Union at Academy has a code troll who never actually talks to any of the neighbors and just calls in dozens (literally dozens) of violations periodically. Look elsewhere.
