Anyone considering moving to Cohoes, New York, let me tell you that I have lived in Cohoes for 12 years come October, and it has its pluses and minuses. Let's get to the bad points first: the schools are horrible - dropout rates through the roof and very poor graduation rates. Th ...Read More
ere are no good jobs to be found no matter how well-qualified you are, and good luck finding housing that is affordable AND decent.
Like I said, there are some positive points too: We do have a very low crime rate, which is very important anywhere. We also have some of the best people I've ever met living here, which makes Cohoes one of the best areas in the state for finding good neighbors. We have some great things to see and do also, like visiting the New York State Museum, checking out Saratoga Spa State Park, and hitting the River Street Festival. The clam steams out at Lanthier's Grove are always a lot of fun too. There are definitely good points to recommend living here.
