The Attractions of Ceres, CA User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 12, 2015) Seven years ago I lived in Ceres, California. I absolutely loved it! I currently live in New York because of a job relocation but I am trying to make plans to go back there some day with my family. What I loved about was the community as well as the weather. As I live in New York ...Read More now I have also come to realize that the culture is Ceres was what I also loved. Although Ceres was my favorite place to live, there were a few downsides.

Within one mile of my house, we had everything. We had a local bakery with excellent coffee I might add, we had a park for my kids to play in, we had a shopping center, and we had many affordable restaurants that I miss so much because of the delicious food. As a homeowner, the cost of owning a house was also very important to me. I am happy to say that in the nice neighborhood we live in, our home came at a great price.

The crime rate in Ceres was also low. I will admit that crime was not unheard of, but it was not something that was feared among our community. As a tip, I will say make sure to lock your doors at night just for the precaution. Another downside was the unemployment rate in Ceres. My family in I lived in a pretty affluent part of town, so my kids were not exposed to the 11 percent employment rate in Ceres. This is a problem that I hope will be fixed one day.

On the upside, the weather there was beautiful. I am a person that prefers warmth all year round. Ceres was the perfect place to live. Now living in New York, we experience actual winters which makes me miss Ceres very much. Read Less
