Canon City is just another city, not great, not terrible. The schools could be better but Colorado is not known for great schools. The city itself is a little boring and if you're coming here looking for a job you're definitely in the wrong place. This is a place for retirement, ...Read More

I have lived in Canon City for nine months now and I can say that the people here are very friendly. We often find ourselves chatting with strangers when we go to the stores.

lk very well found it great fun to go down to the River and soak her feet. The Royal George park is not something you want to miss if you find yourself driving through town on highway 50.
The historic down town is beautiful and the city provide many fun activities throughout the year. We have a particularly great time at the Christmas parade of lights! One of our favorite things to tell our family back home about is all the wild life that live in town. Dear can be seen daily all year round. A drive to big horn sheep canyon is fantastic!
There are limited movie opportunities and shopping, but that is what you can expect to sacrifice for a small town feel.
