Cartersville is a small city with lots of charming attractions, but is close enough to the Atlanta metropolitan area so that you'll have access to award-winning restaurants and shopping amenities. Activities in Cartersville include Petit Creek Farms, a zoo that allows children to see their favorite animals up close. Etowah Indian Mounds State Park is also in the city, and is a historic site that teaches you more about the Native Americans who founded the area. Educational and entertaining events include a visit to the Tellus Science Museum, which features information about prehistoric creatures like dinosaurs.
