I got a ridiculous ticket that should have been a warning, tried fighting it in court but the judge denied. They wanted me to pay $150 the day I went to court which I didn't have until the next day. They basically told me not possible to pay the next fir the same amount, so they ...Read More
hiked up the ticket price by 200%. So In the process of trying to fight the ticket again It went into warrant. They literally make it impossible to pay for a warrant. You can go in And pay either with cash or a money order, or you can pay through a 3rd party website where they charge you a 5% service charge! I've heard through a lot of other people that they never give warnings even fir the smallest things, the police officers are completely full of themselves and only care about ticket quota, this I've personally heard from an ex Carrollton police officer who themselves were tired of working for a corrupt city!

The city of Carrollton seems to be a good place except for the police department. A lot of their patrol officers are arrogant and hot headed. They are just rude. If the bulb in your blinker light goes out expect to pay a high priced ticket because they have no interest in giving ...Read More
warnings or even just a heads up. The kids are often afraid of them so they don't always seek help from their school recourse officers because the street cops have given such a bad name. It just isn't supo to be like that. Our children should see officers in uniform and think that it's a safe person. It's the opposite. They approach your vehicle very hostile. No matter how light the issue is. If they keep this up Carrollton won't be any different then ferguson mo.
The parks are clean and well maintained. The Carrollton youth football league is a great resourse for little league football, cheerleading, and dance. The cfb school district should reconsider some of their teachers and policies. It seems as tho they are more concerned with the schools curb appeal rather than the education of the students.
It is located close enough to Dallas. However always expect delays due to traffic jams.
The public library and splash park are great places to pass away a day with fun and the rev centers offer a lot of ammonites as well.

While in the Air Force, we had made very good friends with our next door neighbors in Oklahoma, who just happened to have a daughter and son-in-law who lived in Carrollton, TX (The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways!). So that's where we started our search for a place to li ...Read More
ve here in DFW. We ended up renting a house in what I guess would be considered North Carrollton in the area of Frankford and Old Denton. We spent the next two years trying to decide where we wanted to buy a home. Funny thing was we looked in all the cities around Carrollton before we realized we really did like it here in Carrollton.
And as fate would have it, we were driving around one day and we saw a new housing addition being started off of Rosemeade between Old Denton and Frankford. We bought our first home in Carrollton in 1998. By this time we had become very comfortable in Carrollton. It felt like home.
There are so many positive aspects to Carrollton that just don't appear in a survey. The city is really in a perfect location here in the North Dallas Suburbs. There are no huge Shopping Malls in Carrollton, though we have easy access to several (Vista Ridge, Willow Bend, and Stonebriar). As for highways, we have I35E which runs along the far west edge of Carrollton, and with the addition of the PGBT tollway, a lot of traffic that used to commute through the city streets of Carrollton, now use the tollway. So there is not the traffic snarls in Carrollton that seem to be prevalent in surrounding cities (for example, Plano traffic is notoriously terrible during rush hour both morning and evening).
The Police Department in Carrollton is one of the best in Texas (statistically), and have a great relationship with the residents. There are numerous Police/Civilian Volunteer organizations, and the Police Department has a significant number of civilians both paid and volunteers in the department.
The schools are also some of the best in Texas. There are two very nice city libraries, several senior citizen centers, and a beautifully restored Old Downtown area.
We recently bought our 'Forever' home here in North Carrollton, and will spend the rest of our lives in the best city in the world!

When I visited the city of Carrollton, it looked to be a typical suburban city. There were chain stores, franchised restaurants, strip malls and nail salons. There did seem to be a lot of community pride, with its clean parks and public areas. The schools in the area looked well-maintained, also.
The downtown Carrollton district seemed very quaint and I noticed several nice golf courses in Carrollton. There was also a huge hospital in the city called the Baylor Medical Center. I learned that this hospital employs over seven hundred people.
I cannot say I would recommend Carrollton as a vacation destination. There were no real attractions or historical sites. Having said that, the drive to Dallas from Carrollton is only about 30 minutes, at which point you could enjoy all the benefits of a large city. Carrollton did seem to be a nice place to live and a wonderful place to raise a family. Carrollton is a community that has a lot to offer its citizens.
