Living the Beach Life in Capitola 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) I have made my home in Capitola for awhile now, and I couldn't imagine a better place to live. Capitola is a port city near Santa Cruz and has a busy boating community. It also has an artistic collection of bungalos near the beach area in warm, inviting colors.

Capitola was in ...Read More itially a beach resort and the city still is centered around its dock and beach areas. The cabins from the resort have been converted into personal residence and are very convenient to the downtown or local sandy beaches. This is a small city, where everyone knows each other.

Residents meet at the local coffee shop or on one of the cafes near the beach. It is possible to walk almost anywhere in Capitola and many residents walk to their local jobs. While Capitola is a smaller, bedroom community, next door is Santa Cruz with its artistic community and its famous Boardwalk.

To end the summer, each year Capitola holds the Begonia Festival, a family oriented event highlighted by local watercraft covered with flowers. Capitola has a number of parks, and these parks have events all year long. Read Less
